Enter your details and make the annual subscription payment through the Subscribe button in the top bar of the home page or click on this Subscribe link. Once your request has been approved you will receive a confirmation e-mail and can then log in through the log-in button in the top bar of the Home Page. You can now access the current month’s News and Feature articles and the Directory.

 

In addition to selecting News and Feature articles through the top menu bar, links at the end of each article provide a convenient shortcut to the next article of the current edition.

 

All monthly editions from January 2022 onwards are accessible to subscribers through the Previous/Next Month navigation buttons at the foot of articles, or filtering and selection of a specific issue date from the issue selector in the header banner image of each page.

To review your Account and subscription renewal payment details:

 

Make sure you are logged-in.

 

Select Account from the footer options – this take you to your Account HOME page tab, and displays your account contact details.

 

To check your payment method is still valid for automatic subscription renewal, select the SUBSCRIPTIONS tab:

 

If your card is still valid and in date, simply close the Account window (or click on the main Recorder logo to return to the main site Home page) and your annual subscription will automatically renew on the due date.

 

If the displayed card has expired, or is no longer in use, click the Update button to add your new/updated method of payment. Make sure the Name field corresponds to the name on your card and when all the card details fields have been entered (including post code) click Submit. This will then authenticate your card and you will then be prompted to Submit the authenticated card update.

 

Whereas, should you wish to cancel your subscription, click the Cancel button to prevent automatic renewal.

The Recorder is published online on the first of every month (or a day earlier/later if the first of the month falls on a Shabbat or festival).

 

The deadline for submitting letters, reports, announcements and adverts is the 23rd of the month. Any announcements and adverts received after this date may be accepted at the discretion of the Recorder Team.

To advertise on a monthly, or annual, basis please use the Book and Advert page. Standard adverts are either square or rectangular (double-square size) displayed in a carousel at the foot of every page. Larger format Advertorial pages may be booked for inclusion in the monthly Features section. All adverts can be booked online.

 

Adverts can include an embedded URL directed to the advertisers external site.

Classified announcements should be booked via the form on the Book an Announcement page. Examples of format/wording can be seen from viewing announcements in previous editions.

The First Word news section is for publishing short letters of interest to the community, and we welcome your submissions to: firstword@recorder.org.uk

 

Please note that the letters page is not a platform upon which to promote forthcoming events. Please book an advert or announcement.

These pages are not a platform upon which to promote forthcoming events – but in the interest of security, if an advert (rectangular format) is booked for the advert carousel, and it is not practical to link it to the organisations own site, it can be linked to the organisations Recorder page, and presented as supplementary advertising copy.

This is the section for society reports, a day out, holiday, book or theatre review, a tried-and-trusted recipe or anything you feel is appropriate to share with the community. Please email your report to: features@recorder.org.uk and all accompanying picture files to: photos@recorder.org.uk

 

For an Obituary,  please ensure you have the family’s permission and follow the format of the Recorder Obituary page. Email the text to: features@recorder.org.uk and a head/shoulders photo to: photos@recorder.org.uk

In order to uphold the professional standard that the Recorder has maintained since its first issue in 1935, we request that all articles submitted for online publication comply with the following style guidelines:

 

Text files

• All text should be in a single size and in the same font
• Use of italic (not bold) within the text can be used to emphasis words or quotes
• Include headline in bold
• Include author’s name and any sub-headings in bold-italic
• Insert a single linespace between paragraphs
• Include subheadings where appropriate (no linespace after subheadings)
• Paragraphs should not be indented
• The number of sentences in each paragraph should be between 3–5 (guide)

 

Photos

If photos relate to a specific part of your article, include the words Photo Caption, followed by your caption at the closest appropriate location between paragraphs.
